OK, are we doing something wrong?

We are using Premiere Pro CS 3.2 (latest updates) and Sony XDCam files from an Ex-1. We import the files into Premiere by importing the BPAV folder. This works, although Premiere complains about XML files that it can’t recognize. We wind up with a bin full of clips…but all clips begin with “00:00:00:00” time code. This makes the notes taken by the producers (using Clip Browser) useless, as they are logging “actual” TC from the clips themselves.

We can’t believe that this is “the way it is.” Attempting to drag and drop clips from Clip Browser to the Premiere bin doesn’t appear to work (as it does on FCP.) Anyone encountered this, or found a workaround?

    Thanks —

hey. i have had a simular problem. not being able to import the bpav folder into premiere and having to individually select mpeg4 shots from the clpr folder. not sure about the timecode. i think since were dealing with a really new product with an older product (ex1 – premiere) things are still a little way off from being an easy workflow. but sorry – not sure about the timecode thing.
