    XDCam capture with BM DL HD Extreme?

    I have a Sony XDCam HD (PDW-F350), and a BM Decklink HD Extreme. I’m also running Premiere CS3 on a Windows XP system.

    Is it possible to shoot and live capture full HD footage via the HD-SDI ports on the camera/card?

    I have been trying, and getting no where. I have the software, drivers, and premiere presets installed. I have not been able to see a video signal in Premiere or even Media Express.

    I’ve searched thru the BM website, but most of their support now goes to the Decklink HD Extreme 3D.

    Please let me know if what I’d like to accomplish is even possible with what I have.

    Hi Derek,

    Some things you can try:

    1) capturing from another HD-SDI source to see if that works
    2) ensuring that the output of the camera matches the format expected by the card, i.e. the presets you’ve used.
    3) Check that you’ve not set the SDI output of the camera to down convert, else you’ll be sending SDI but the card will still be expecting HD-SDI.
