XDCAM 422HD on SxS Cards
I’m trying to work with some footage shot on a PMW-500 in the 422HD format (ie as MXFs). I’m used to the usual BPAV structure of XDCAM EX footage working flawlessly through FCP7s Log and Transfer so I looked on Sony’s site and found that an updated plugin says it should work with 422 footage;
“This plug in for Final Cut Pro 7 can be used to ingest video shot on Sony SxS cards in either :
XDCAM EX format: FAT/.MP4
XDCAM HD422 memory format: UDF/.MXF (i.e. PMW-100 and PMW-500)”So I reinstalled the plugin and opened up L&T but it is not seeing the footage. FCP will still see 35Mbit BPAV folders stored elsewhere but not this 422 footage on an SxS card connected to my machine. Any thoughts, or am I basically just stuck using XDCAM Transfer (now renamed Content Browser?)

The Log and Transfer plugin is for EX/FAT recordings only. It’s also discontinued. You can use XDCAM Browser ro Contenct Browser to rewrap these to .mov on import.
