XDCAM 422 codec – output from AVID
Hoping for some quick assistance.
I have a client who’s requested: XDCam 422 codec (QT wrapper, .mov extension) for delivery.
I’m on MC 8 (using PC).
I don’t see that as an export settings option. Am I missing anything? Or do I need to download a codec ? And, if so, from where?thanks a ton

I’m running 8.5.1 on a Mac…but still, you don’t have XDCAM listed in the Compression types?

XDCAM 422 with MOV wrapper is mac-only.
Ask them if an MXF file is acceptable instead. It probably is.
Just be aware that Avid will split out the XDCAM422 MXF with 8 discrete audio channels, exactly like your first 8 channels on your timeline (stereo tracks don’t count – you have to split them into dual mono). So you’ll need create mixdowns and organize the tracks as per your broadcasters specs first.
