Getting ready to work on an HD project with a new Media100 HDE system. The project will be shot in 24p. I am aware that Media100 does not support this frame rate yet, but will I still be able to capture in via hd-sdi without using the downconvert in the deck? Any issues regarding this process would be greatly appreciated!

I’ve worked a bunch in the format, but I’ve never taken the hd. I always took the sd downconvert out of the vtr, which would upsample the frame rate to 29.97. This may be more of a format question. I guess I can always check out the manual on the deck.
    Thanks for the quick reply.

I did a DVCProHD project a little while ago shot at 720/24p and it worked fine when I edited in 1080i within Media 100 HDe. Different camera but I assume the results would be the same.

you’ll have no issues with frame rate, because you’ll have to acquire using HDSDI anyways, which the deck will apply the automatic pulldown to 29.97. no issues , except maybe when batching. media100HD seems to have trouble cueing up clips on the XDCAMHD PDW F70 model. if you have issues, change media 100’s device control from “use deck’s cue” to “fast cue”
