I’m on set, right now. The D.P. brought a Sony XD Cam EX. We’re unloading the 8 GB flash drive to an external hard drive every 20 minutes of footage. I downloaded the XD Cam EX Clip Browser. I can see the clips in that software, but can’t get Vegas Pro 8.0 to open them. What’s up? Do I actually have to use firewire and go directly from the camera into Vegas? That’s just too time consuming. 5 minutes to unload to a drive. 20 minutes to go directly from the camera to Vegas. Now that all the footage is loaded onto the external drive, what’s the solution?

    HELP!

    Please email me directly. ow***@*******al.net

    Thank you!

Use the Clip Browser software to select all the clips in the BPAV folder that you dragged to the external drive. Right-click on the clips and go to Export > MXF for NLEs. It’ll ask you where you want to save the files, then it’ll convert all the clips to .mxf files. Just drop those right into the Vegas timeline.
