I have several MP4’s that were shot on a Sony a7s.

    XAVC/120fps

    I have downloaded and installed the XAVC/XDCAM Plug-in for Avid (PDZK-MA2) v 3.41.

I am still unable to ama link to the footage, it just tells me it is unable to link.

I checked the console and it says that these are installed, I assume the second one is the one I recently installed because of the same version number.

    MVP_MSP_SonyXDCAM_64-bit Sony Corporation 3.4100

Is there anything I am missing? I am beating my head against a wall here, and would love to find an open window.

instead of auto-detect plug in in the link to ama dialog box, try to use Sony plug in.

If it is recorded using the XAVC-S codec, then it is not supported by the Sony AMA plug-ins. There has been lots of threads on this issue. For example: https://community.avid.com/forums/t/129982.aspx?PageIndex=1

You can use Resolve to transcode, ClipToolz to rewrap (PC), purchase an AMA plug-in from Drastic Technologies that supports it ($99), and some other workarounds that I may be missing but others can fill in with here.

I tried that, thanks for the suggestion! It still didn’t work though.

Which solution and what didn’t work exactly?

I’m sorry. I tried selecting the sony plugin manually as Massimo suggested and it still didn’t work.

I also have tried “wrap to MOV” in cliptoolz as I saw suggested in another thread, no dice.

I guess I will have to transcode through resolve.
