I’ve used it quite a while and it does what it promises. Lots of new features, embedded media can be trimmed resulting smaller AAF files etc. Supports also Nuendo and Pyramix but not Logic… Odd or not?

The original version worked well, but was of limited use in my workflow due to the fact that it couldn’t trim audio… thus creating gigantic aaf’s too large to, say, ftp to a post house. This version, which can trim clips is awesome! And it will prep your splits nicely for you using roles. I had been using a beta version to send tracks out to finish with no problem and the release version is really great. Worth every penny. Get it! 🙂

I generated an aaf and am sending it to mixer now just to confirm it works. It automatically strips compressor effects out which is good. Curious how it handles other filters though. Also, due to Apple’s app store sandboxing rules, you have to grant the app permissions to each and every volume or folder you want to allow access too for media. This means if you use DMG files like we do you’re going to have to allow access for each event dmg every time you export.

I think it’s going to work fine though. The app tells you when it doesn’t have access and pulls up the authorize screen, so that’s good. I’ll post results later.

FYI, It remembers the discs/folders you’ve given it access to, so you just need to do it once for each location. Sent a couple aaf’s to post yesterday and today… works fine. 🙂

Mixer just opened it up. This is his direct quote:

“Worked great. Opened fine, has handles. That will make life easier.”

    Sold.

If each new event gets a new DMG, you’ll still have to assign it for every project export. Only takes a second though.
