Hello Charlie,
You have 2 Ethernet cards in eother pc, you then connect via a ethernet cable pc – pc or via a network hub, if you are on Microsoft Windows XP you have an option to setup a home Network, you can use the wizard and setup a network which is not on the internet.
Machine 1: After Effects Work station with Grid Iron
IP: 192.168.0.4
Machine 2: After Effects Render engine and grid iron
IP: 192.168.0.5
You can set the ip’s manually in Microsoft XP by going to control pnale netwrok connections, then right clicking properties, then TCP/IP then configuring a mamnual IP.
In After Effects you then create a watch folder and configure the gridiron to use the IP on the 2nd pc. I have only used the Gridirin once ages ages. So very rough.
Hope this helps?
