I have a file that won’t open in FCP, QT, MPEGStreamClip, VLC, DIVX etc… etc.. the error says that it is an ADV1 file. I have never heard of this before. I must be screwed. Help?!

30 seconds of Google searching led me to Loronix wavelet codec which identifies itself as ADV1.

https://www.loronix.com/products/video_clips/wavecodec.asp This is the download page for the codec for Windows 2000 – Win 95 so it looks like an older codec and quite uncommon.

The company behind the codec can be found here
    https://verint.com/video_solutions/overview.cfm?article_level1_category_id=408.

They have a codec zip to download on this page but no info. Perhaps you can contact them and find out what works with their codec pack and how to convert the file into something useful.

And keep this link up your sleve for next time – https://www.fourcc.org/codecs.php

It has a list of obscure codecs and the links to get them.

Yeah, I saw that, I just didn’t realize it could be that old and outdated. Thought there might be something else out there to deal with it. Plus it’s only compatible with Windows. I’ll give them an e-mail but hardly seems like they would be up to date enough to help.
