  • Wrong timing when rendered as PNG sequence

Posted by John-patrick Crowe on November 30, 2018 at 3:02 am

I’m creating a C4D video that is timed to music.
When rendering a PNG sequence and combining it with the music in After Effects, the timing is off.
When rendering a Quicktime movie and combining it with the music in After Effects, the timing is bang on.

Is it possible to render a PNG sequence timed to music, or does it have to be a Quicktime movie file?
    Thanks!

Yes it should be fine, it’s probably a frame rate issue.

Check your frame rate in cinema 4d’s project settings (cmd+d or ctrl+d)
Check your frame rate in the render settings, these should be the same.
Check your Import frame rate in After Effects (it defaults to 30)
Check your Composition render frame rate in After Effects (cmd+k or ctrl+k)
