    Hello community,

I run into problems regarding an animation. The object (which is grouped and consist of 2 parts) moves from one point to another. During the movement I added a 360 turn + a slide change of angle. Though the object moves weird and not turns around it’s Axis. At least not the straight movement I want.

    Starting point

The idea is that it rolls 360, but what happens it turns 360 horizontal

I hope this explanation does make sense. I’m quite new to Cinema4D and appreciate any feedback!

    Best,
    Yuri

Hard to tell from the pics, but my guess is that you’re experiencing an order of rotation problem. You can see the problem illustrated if you activate the rotation tool and then check the “gimbaling rotation” box in the attributes manager. The best way to avoid it is to nest your object in a series of nulls. Instead of animating the object’s rotation, animate the nulls’ rotations (one axis per null).
