  • Writing instructional text over a recording of a computer screen?

    Hi

I am editing a project of which consists of a recording of a computer screen, which tells the viewer how to upload pictures to the website.

There is a online form you fill in, so i want to make it clear with instructions in a space to the side of the shot, but nothing i do looks right.

I have tried a vignette around steps of the form such as email address, name etc so it is 90% darker, therefore allowing the viewer to see the instructional text saying Enter your name and email address.

    Any other tips?

    Thank you

    Josh

Not sure if it’s anything like what you’re looing for but have a look at the Highlighter effect I’ve just posted:

    It might work …?

You may want to try text over a simple box or gradient. You can create the title as a template in motion, or just add a text layer over a generator layer, compound the two, then apply a crop and position it to where you want.

If you have photoshop, you can also just create the text you need in there, with boxes.

Between FCX and Motion, you can do a wealth of things.

FCX. She tempts me, abuses me, beats me up, makes me feel worthless, then in the end she comes around, helps me get my work done, gives me hope and I can’t stop thinking about her.

Awesome. I did start off with a round edged box placed nicely in the corner with opacity brought down a tad.

    Thank you for your reply.
