    Hi,

I have a logo in the shape of a ‘5’ that I wish to reveal as a write-on. In after effects what I do is create a stroke path over the logo, use the trim tool and use it as an alpha matte over the logo. Now, I wish to do the same in 3D.

I’ve thought of using the boole but it seems a bit messy. Is there a way I can create a 2D alpha stroke reveal and apply it on a shader attribute?

Please help me figure out a technique. Thank you!

A Sweep Object + Boolean is how I would go about it.

    Hi Justin,

The boole+sweep technique is very buddy, my shaders begin to behave strangely at the corners, making the boole high quality causes my reveal to disappear on certain frames. I’d like to know if there’s a way I can create a reveal matte in the UV section and apply it as an alpha in one of its shader properties. All this is hypothetics from my experience in C4D. Please help!
