Learning to use the Write On Mask to progressively reveal some text I appear to be doing everything properly according to the tutorial but the mask is stubbornly insisting on painting itself out three inches to the left, and one inch down, from the masking path. I’m about to quit and do it in photoshop. Help?

Write-on needs coordinates based on the Comp dimensions, not layer dimensions.

If the layer is smaller than the Comp, pre-compose the layer, draw the mask path, then copy and paste the mask path to Write-on’s Brush Position.

    Damn!

Thankyou! That fixed it. It’s so obvious now. I should have realized from the position that it was set for the layer size and not the comp.

So glad to be able to ask and get an answer.
