is there a way in after effects to create the effect of a wrinkled piece of paper being unfolded or a piece of paper being folded up or wrinkled? i like the effect seen on the enjoy greener grass website and would love to build on that type of an effect.

    https://www.enjoygreenergrass.com/main_site/main.html

i was thinking of creating the paper in photoshop and then cutting the image apart into different layers along the fold lines and animating the different pieces along those fold lines, but it would be great if anyone has a little quicker technique. thanks!

It’s a real pain in AE, depending on the number of folds. Everything has to be lined up manually. It’s easier to shoot stop-motion.

Search the COW (advanced search) for “paper”, “airplane” or “fold”.

Here is a link to a test I did with folding paper all in AE. I did not spend too much time on it, but I think that folding paper in AE is not too bad once you wrap your head around the process. It would take me too long to explain what I did, but if you would like I could send you the project file for it (if I can find it).
