  • Wrapping several splines around a polygonal object

    Good day eh,

I attempting to animate a paragraph made from individual spline letters from its original flat state to a state in which it is wrapped around a polygonal object. The closest I’ve come to achieving this was by using the Shrink Wrap deformer, but it presented two issues:

First, the text gets stretched and warped along the X and Y axes; I’m trying to preserve the parallel lines and hopefully even the kerning of the text in the deformed state.
Second, the text does not wrap around behind the polygonal object, like it was projected and not wrapped around the object. The polygonal objects do have various widths, but ideally the text would only wrap completely around (meet up on the opposite side) at the thinnest part(s) of the polygonal object.

It seems like there should be a simple solution, but I’ve been at it for over a day and still nothing ☹ Any insight would be greatly appreciated!
