around the middle part of the tank? Wrap deformer? or are you trying to include the caps of the tank too?

I wanted to bend the extrusion so that it followed the curvature of the spherical part of the oil tank, the top.
The idea is to use the oil tank primitve with a little height so that it looks like a pin. Then, the extrusion would stick out in a way that its height would the same all over the top of the pin, following the curvature that the pin has..
It may sound a bit complex, but its really simple..
I’ve tried the wrap object, but it’s too complicated to get the exact curvature, i’ve tried the spline the spline wrap, but i can’t make the curvature for both x and y axis.

    Hi,

    There’s a ‘Project’ function located at: Structure/Edit spline/Project.

If you take a spline and place it in front of a sphere, and choose this option, then choose your axis in the arrtibutes manager and hit Apply, it should project it onto the surface of the sphere. You need enough subdivisions in your objects to get nice results.

    Could that help?

That’s almost what i’m looking for, but instead of a spline,i’m trying to put an extrusion.. Picture a pin with some text beveled..

Hey John, I’ve been trying to do this but am having trouble. Your directions and the manual indicate “After choosing the Project function, a dialog opens. Use this dialog to choose the type of projection”, but when I do that no dialog opens, nothing happens, nothing in the attributes manager. The option is there and available, I’m using a plane and an editable open bezier spline in front. I’m using C4D R10. I’m obviously missing something, any idea what?
