I guess it stands to reason, with the price difference being exponential. But, wow. I just demoed Episode, as I, like most people, still live in a world where corporate clients watch everything on Windows Media. The difference in quality with using the preset Windows Media setting in Episode is soooo much better. I had a graphic that my corporate client has been complaining about for days when encoded with Flip4Mac in about 10 different variations. I then encoded wtih the default Episode setting – and finally, you can read the graphic at 640×360.

Best 500 dollars I’ve ever spent.

    FYI, y’all. Try the demo.

    Good feedback.

To be fair, F4M is a super cut down version of Episode, and just for Windows media. It’s like comparing QuickTime pro with compressor. Or Episode for that matter!)

One of the BIG differences is that Episode has a great deinterlacer. It can really make a significant difference.
