Would it be easier to try to configure Kinect v. 2 for Mac OS X, or to dual boot and get Windows on my MacBook, so Kinect can work easily with it?
I’m going to be purchasing a Kinect V. 2, but there’s so much talk of Kinect being hostile for the newest OS X that I don’t even know where to begin. Someone suggested I could dual boot my MacBook to get Windows and then easily use the Kinect without configuring it for Mac. Which would you suggest? If possible, I’d rather not have to dual boot; but if it’s easier than the extra steps needed to adapt Kinect for OS X Sierra, I would do it.

I found these options on the Microsoft site:
It shows you how to install Windows on an external USB 3.0 drive for use with a Mac. If you’re developing for a Windows device it’s best to use Windows. That means installing Windows natively on your Mac hardware using Bootcamp or using that external hard drive option. I assume there are 3rd party libraries that work on Mac and from your post it sounds like you are aware of them but they broke on High Sierra.
The path of least resistance is to simply use Windows. Then you will have the access to the entire Kinect Windows SDK and Microsoft development ecosystem.
