world’s largest comp?
Posted by George Robbins on April 14, 2009 at 5:22 pmI’m working on a project that has a final dimension of 47,164 by 1080 pixels. I’m trying to determine if anyone has worked on or heard of a similar (or larger!) sized project… otherwise I’m gonna call guinness book of world records.

April 14, 2009 at 6:06 pmWell, last year I worked on a 32xxx*2xxx big composition (can’t remember the exact size), it was for a automobile-fair for a german car manufacturer and I was told it was not the biggest for the company till that time…so, yeah, I think there are bigger one’s. It’s already common for the fairs because of the long LED walls they like to use.
Good luck with the rendering…you have to tweak the settings long time before it renders fine 😉

April 16, 2009 at 6:32 pmThis is the only video I could find.

I plan to put some parts of it into my showreel, but don’t have confirmation yet from the production company and the ad agency.
The LED Wall (with 3 HD Screen in the middle) was about 280 feet (93 metres) long and and had a ramp going down from the middle screen and forward about 12 metres. It was made into a catwalk for some models.
You can’t see the ramp in the crappy youtube video. And I can’t find photos of it. I know I had some.
But I got the correct numbers now: Without the ramp in the middle it was 22368*3341 Pixel but with the ramp it went above 22368*8000 PixelMost of our machines in the farm were not able to render it.

April 16, 2009 at 6:49 pmcool. thanks for sharing this. I work for a firm that does this kind of thing, though most of our installations are permanent. When you rendered these, it was as a single 22364*8000 comp? or did you slice it up into pieces? and if I may ask, do you know what kind of playback system they were using?
Thanks!
