I’m seeking advice on straddling both worlds, Mac and PC.

I’m editing on FCP, but using my existing software/hardware on the PC for After Effects & Photoshop.

Do I need to be concerned anymore with the issues of white-to-black ranges? I recall discussions of resetting your whites to 16, blacks to 235 (I may be off). Is there a primer on such matters?

On a related topic: I’m having some difficulty using a KVM switch for both a Mac and a PC, though the manufacturer (Aten) states it can handle this. Any advice on a good switch, preferably one that can handle USB keyboard/mouse and (if possible) DVI video?
