I’ve just moved across from FCP7 and am trying to set up a dual monitor workspace. I lie to edit with the source/record and timeline on the right hand monitor, and the project panel, bins and effects editor on the left. For some reason, whenever I save this workspace and then invoke it from the menu, Avid insists on moving the project panel back to the right hand monitor and parks it over my source and timeline panels.

Is this normal please – surely not (this is Avid MC after all). What am I doing wrong please?

    Thanks very much

There’s a bug in 6.0. Until it gets fixed in the first patch (hopefully), set your Sys Pref-Displays so that the Mac menu bar is on the left monitor. Then in the Toolsets pulldown menu, click on each one (Source/Record, Effects, Color Correction, Audio) and configure the layout the way you want. Do it for each and “Save Current” before doing it for the next one. These choices are mappable to the keyboard, which lets you quickly jump between the various screen layouts and tools.
