This probably a simple question with a simple answers but I simply don’t have the answer to it :c
What is the typical setting for HD wide screen tv?

my preferred setting and the one i pretty much always use is:
PAL D1/DV wide screen Square Pixel
    25 Fps

I have aspect ratio problems designing for wide screen tv, i can never seem to make something that fits perfectly onto scree without any cropping of top and bottom (like in old western films)

further question: i work on 15ich mac book pro, does this have the same dimensions of a widescreen tv or is is inaccurate representation(aspect ratio)?

    Thanks in advance guys

You only need to know that 16:9 PAL SD is 1050×576 pixels. There is a comp preset to select this when you create a composition.
