    Hello all,

I’ve recently had the need to work with some older VOB files that came off my Sony Mini-Cam. They are just files on my hard drive.

Sony Vegas doesn’t offer an import option for files directly off ones hard drive, at least not that I’ve located.

Dragging the VOB into the media folder and then placing on the time line results in only a small portion of the the VOB available for working with. Also a point of interest is that if I stretch the clip out, you can see thumbs of more of the video, as you would normally on a longer clip, but it just loops over and over that small percentage you first see when dragging it to the time line.

How can I make use of these files with out burning the VOB’s back to a DVD? Thanks.

Sorry Tim, that’s how vegas handles direct VOB files, its hard to get
a handle on it on the timeline.
However importing from a DVD that’s when it converts it to mpeg2 beautifully and place it on the timeline.
