I’m trying to work with transparent PNG in Premiere, here’s what it looks like in photoshop:

and works perfect in After Effects on a black background:

However, when i bring it into Premiere, it doesn’t seem to handle the detail very well:

I’ve tried changing all the different depth settings in the sequence, but I don’t seem to be able to get anywhere. Is this simply because premiere doesn’t handle transparency / alpha as well as After Effects? Thanks

    Hello, Darren Lee!
You could improve that by adding the Ultra Key effect on the png image. Then you could change the “Choke” and “Soften” properties of the effect. That will make the outine of your image much better. If you’re aiming to preserve the Alpha Channels (transparency) of your video, try exporting it with with AfterCodecs. You could choose the the following codecs: ProRes 4444, ProRes XQ, and ProRes 4444. You can find the plugin on http://www.autokroma.com/AfterCodecs.

Let me know if you succeeded!

can someone direct how to keep translucency from a png? I’m getting it turning to black from white!

Don’t mean to hijack, but it won’t let me ask this because it’s too similar…
