I’ve done up something in AE with lots of video layers and text. The client wants a few of the text in 3D.

I thought it would be easy to create the 3D text using Invig but I’m having a hard time trying to know where my Invig layer sets are, relative to AE’s 3D layers.

How do you guys manage with this issue of working with two different 3D spaces?

    TIA

    Hi Roland.

I’m sure our expert users have a better answer, but I would imagine that most artists add a 3D Camera in AE and use the “Use Comp Camera” feature of the Invigorator to keep everything in the same 3D space.

Hi Matt, Just went through the documentation and found out aobut the Tracking of AE Layers. It does work but boy oh boy is it combersome. And looks like I’ll have to take a look at Relfector as well.

    Cheers

    Hi RoRK.

Tracking layers requires a little work from the user. Due to limitations to how After Effects plug-ins work – we here at Zaxwerks strive to push AE to its limits 🙂 – you have to do some manual scene updating before rendering.

But the results can be fantastic, so hopefully it’s worth it.
