this might sound a bit confusing, but I’ll try to explain myself:
I am working with footage that I transfered form P2,now when trying to edit this footage I have an aspect ration problem. I am not sure what is the best sequence setting to work with. I have edited a sequence that looks squeezed to me and so I went and tried to change the setting of the sequence but nothing seems to work right. I created a new sequence and inserted into it a clip and the FCP suggested a setting that I should work with (960×720) I tried copying and pasting my seq into that new one but the footage still looks squeezed. I am getting very confused here.
what is really driving me crazy is that I have two settings with the same setting (same clips) but everyone looks different!!

    am I missing anything here?

YOu started editing in a sequence with improper settings, so that distored your footage. Double click on your clips to load them into the Viewer…click on the MOTION tab. Note that they are most likely distored by 33%. Change that to 0. Scale might be other than 100 too. Change that if needed. Now, highlight that clip, hit APPLE-C. Then highlight all the rest of the clips and hit OPTION-V…paste attributes…and select Basic Motion and Distort.

I was stung by this a month ago.
