  • working with external harddrive – what will be saved on my internal ssd?

    Hi!

I`m planing to save my libraries on my external disc. That means that the events and projects also will be stored there? What will be stored on my internal ssd when working like this?

If my external hard drive crashes, can I just mount my mirrored back up, and keep on editing? No hassle?

The only thing that needs to be in your ssd are the Motion Templates in your Movies Folder. If you’ve built any custom templates you would need to back them up. And Final Cut Backups go in the internal drive by default but you can change the location in the settings.

Events and Projects are always inside an event. Working with an external drive is the way you should be working anyway. You shouldn’t have any hassles.
