    Hi All

I’m in a situation where I need to edit up to four different types of footage in the one video. The sources are as follows

Sony Cam – Sony AVC HD 1080 60i (AKA Pal 25 interlaced)
    Gopro Hero – AVC HD 1080p 29.97
    Gopro Hero – AVC HD 720p 59.94
5d Mark II – Can’t remember format but frame rate is 24.976

With the project set up to render to progressive 25 pal which I normally use for the Sony Cam only the Sony Cam (25 Pal) looks correct. All other footage has a degree of ghosting which is obviously because it’s been forced into a non native framerate.

What options do I have available to me to minimise this issue? My guess would be to convert everything into the correct framerate first using a third party app and then work on the project.

    Regards

    James

Why are you using all NTSC cameras for a PAL project? You should really use PAL cameras for PAL delivery.

You can right-click on each event and Disable resampling. That will eliminate the ghosting becasue it tells Vegas to stop resampling and blending the frames. The output may look a bit jerky but it is what it is.

Thanks John. I was thinking about trying that tonight so I’ll give it a go. The majority of the footage is PAL and the other cameras are used for a specific purpose. The gopro is a tiny waterproof sports camera which can be mounted on cars, skies, heads, you name it. The 5d needs no introduction but I’m using it for its depth of field
