Working with different frame rates and sizes
I’m starting a little doc project and have been given footage in 23.98 as well as 29.97. The clip frame sizes also vary. From 1920×1080 to 960 x 540 to 1280 x 720.
Some advice on the best approach?

Don’t use FCP. Use Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 instead. Otherwise you are looking at converting a whole lot of footage into the format of the main footage type you are working with. Meaning converting all the stuff that isn’t, say 1920×1080 23.98 ProRes….INTO 1920×1080 23.98 ProRes.

It’s not a huge amount of footage so transcoding is manageable. Would you recommend making all the 29.97 h264 footage into Pro Res 23.98 fr rate? or the other way 29.97 into 23.98
I’m inclined to make everything 23.98 but all the interviews are 29.97
Either frame rate will work for delivery though I assume 23.98 gives more flexibility
I’m using Compressor to transcode – good way to go?Thanks for all your great insight.
