Working with Canon RAW in Avid MC8
Didn’t see this question posted in the forum, my apologies if already posted. Is there a way to handle Canon RAW (.rmf) files nativly in Avid MC8? From what I can tell Avid does not have an AMA plugin for Canon RAW. Seems odd its so easy to work with RED footage in Avid you would think Canon would be the same. Just would like to know what other editors are doing.

MC8 doesn’t work with Canon RAW. No NLE does that I’m aware of. You’ll need to convert it with an outside app. Does Resolve see it? If so, use Resolve Lite to convert the footage to DNxHD MXF…edit with that. And if you need to online the Raw…then use Resolve.
