Working with AE and 3D application : what’s the best choice ?
Hi all,
I learnt basics on Max and now i’m working a lot with AE.
I’d like to make better effect you cannot do with AE but which program should i get ?
I saw here that Cinema 4D had better integration with AE, what about Max, Maya… ? Does particular system differs ?Thanks for you answers.

Cinema 4D is the choice for motion graphics and AE. The others are fine, wonderful and sophisticated, but C4D works the best with AE. End of story.

It’s just set up to make integration easier. Also, I find the workflow well-suited to client changes. Unlike Lightwave, say.

… but Max interacts better with Combustion. If you have Max, get combustion.You might want to search the COW for “after effects”, “max” and “maya”.

MAX2AE from boomerlabs.com provides incredible MAX/AE integration. Far superior to anything C4D does.
Transfer camera/object/lights..etc animation both from MAX to AE and from AE to MAX as well.
Work on scenes, tweaking animation and such in both apps and it maintains between the two.
Extremely useful being able to animate in AE then take it into MAX and then back.
Very powerful plugin.
BUT technically, MAX does not have any ‘native’ support for AE integration. Again though, with a few $$$ you can have incredible integration.
