    (I’m in the UK)
I’ve recently accepted to help a friend out by editing something for him.

I work all day everyday in the same formats and settings ( which is pretty shitty cause things like this really catch you out). Although I had told him to always use 25fps unfortunately he’s gone and shot in 23.98.

I realised whilst trying to export out a timelapse as I was consistently getting a General Error.

Now to be honest I have no real idea what problems this can cause me. I’ve reset my sequence settings to match the footage but would really like to get a heads up on any potential problems it could cause me.

Any help would be really appreciated.

I’m thinking to editing in the native timebase and produce quicktimes for that and then use a compression at the end of the edit to create a file for dvd?

We do that with a lot of 23.98 material. It works fine for both DVD and BluRay.
I suspect there’s a bit of difference however getting to 25 fps as almost all of what we do is NTSC and 23.98 is an NTSC variant, hopefully you’ll post a follow up as far as what level of success you’ve encountered
