Working with 16×9 footage…
What considerations do I need to make when working with 16×9 footage in Motion? I’m setting up my project preferences as 16×9, so that my canvas expands appropriately. However, when I’m bringing my 16×9 footage in it appears squeezed into 4×3. I’m simply grabbing the outside edges of the frame and expanding them out so that it fits the entire size of the canvas, thereby expanding it to about 130%. Is this the correct way to work with 16×9 footage, or is there a better way? FYI, I shot the footage on a Canon XL-2. Thanks.

Motion does not recognise the anamorphic flag in FCP, indeed QT doesn’t support aspect ratio display changes.
Just make your clip 133%
