working resolution vs. finished resolution
I was wondering if I can work in a low resolution then when I’m done render my file in a high resolution. Here is what I’m trying to do. I am working on a short animated film using stills that are prepared in Photoshop. I want my final output to be to 35 mm film and HD video. All my still images are 1920 x 1080. I’m working in Motion 3 on a MacBook Pro. I have set the file up at 1080i@24 fps. But if I do anything at all complex, like use the replicator, the computer just crawls at about 2 fps. So what I was wondering is if I could initally work at something like 480 x 270 while doing the rough edit and then change it later once I’m finished experimenting and I’m ready to send it to FCP. Can this work? Thanks for the help. It sure would be nice to speed this process up a little without buying a new computer.
