Workflow with basic editing between AE and Premiere
I am working on a project in After Effects that started as a simple video in Premiere. I did the basic edit in Premiere, highlighted the whole project, then right clicked and hit “replace with AE comp”
Now, after creating some graphics, I want to lengthen one of the clips. If I make it longer in AE, than the audio gets off synch back in Premiere. I can’t lengthen in Premiere, because the sequence is already that pink “comp” bar.
What’s the best (pro) way to do this without a ton of extra work re-synching, etc.?

You’re making me angry! Ha ha ha, was afraid some one would say that. Okay, fair enough.
Maybe in future Adobe updates, individual clips that have been grouped into an AE comp can still be “backwards recognized” (for lack of a better term) in Premiere… although I guess at that point I am basically suggesting that Premiere and AE should just be merged into one program, which I wouldn’t doubt that we’ll see in the next decade.

[Dave LaRonde] “You’ve just run into a basic principle of going between PP & AE: if you start the edit in PP, make sure you have edit lock — i.e. no further edit changes — before you go to AE.”
Or work on individual shots instead of the entire timeline at once.
