    Hola Gurus,
Started a new gig on a project already in progress.
Need to cut 8 half hour episodes, and as we all usually do we transcode all the material in Pro rez 422 before start cutting.
Not the case, the original files are EX3, canon 5D, PNG graphics, H264 from Maya for 3D GrpX, Audio WAW , MP3 etc etc. everything has been imported using the different proprietary software (Sony, Canon ) but never converted to Prorez
    shot 23.98fps
I have around 8 terabyte stuff to convert keeping for now the same file names because there are a number of timelines already edited in mixed formats, many layers and efx applied in most clips and I have to relink everything.

I checked the very good tutorial from Shane Ross on Log and Transfer but I cannot go back to the original card.
I media manage a test on one projects and for 3 min took 2 hours (not thunderbolt drive).all video is ok but the audio is still WAW and MP3!!!! why doesn’t convert the audio too? Any Ideas?
If I go with compressor will relink everything? Any suggestions?

Also Im setting up the editing rooms we have 2 17″ laptops one with Apple cinema display and for mine thanks to Mr Biscardi suggestion we bought 2 23” Dell UltraSharp U2312HM monitors. now I need to get a HD with Thunderbolt (we already a Pegasus and a backup Drobo Firewire/Esata)
So to Convert stuff faster will the Lacie 6TB at Raid 0 will work ? anyone using it ?
I had horrible experiences with G drives (maybe I just was unlucky)

I really don’t want my client to spend a ton of money on another Pegasus.
    sorry for my LOOOOONG post
    Thank you in advance

Media Manager is the only way to go when you have such complications.

Wavs are fine but the mp3s should be converted and replaced. Make sure all sample rates match 48khz.
