    Hi All,

Newbie here going through the manual and working out how to use Resolve – experienced Apple Color user.

With certain shows I create a global modification that I apply to every clip and then go shot by shot.

With Color I did this simply by making the modification on one clip and then used the “Copy grade to All” button.

The only way I can see to do this in Resolve is to create a group with all clips, then make the correction, then delete the group. This works fine but just checking this is the only / best way to do it. I see that you can also apply a grade to an entire track, but this is not ideal as it then limits modifications I can make to my initial “global” grade on particular clips.

    Thanks

You could append a node to any clip, make a grading adjustment that you want to apply to every other clip and then “Append Ripple Node”

20,150 shift ripple value will apply that node and grade from clips 20 through to 150

However, you first need to get yourself the “Resolve Color Control Surface”

Hmmm…..unfortunately I only have the JL Cooper Eclipse…… so there is no way to access this ripple command through the menus or right clicks etc?

Just to clarify….once I have created a group by right clicking, then any change I make to one clip is automatically added to the others in a group. The only way to then change this linked behaviour seems to be to delete the group – there doesn’t seem to be a way to deactivate the grouping behavior temporarily….is this correct?

I take it there is no way to turn on and off group linking except to delete the group then???
