Workflow question – from Premiere to Speedgrade back to Premiere – Rename?
FCP7 is brilliant. Send to color. in color, send to FCP7. freaking easy.
What is the premiere workflow?
I get the work into speedgrade via an EDL. Have to relink AND rename the clips, so that when I shoot it back to premiere, it doesn’t link to the wrong footage. And apparently speedgrade will NOT let you import multi-clip footage.This can’t be correct. Is this system this bad? It’s bad enough that you can’t put multiclips in the project pane, b/c they become sequences, not clips, (AVID wins big in the multiclip department), but this speedgrade workflow is confusing me.
Premiere experts – please hook me up w/ the proper knowledge. I’ve heard way too many good things…I’m must be doing things incorrectly.

Had the pleasure of learning the basics at NAB this morning and got to test it out at another course in the afternoon.
Yes I find the EDL quite a bit annoying where you have to reload from the Reel section.
It crashed on a MacBook Pro and HP box a lot as well.
As a Resolve user I am quite impressed with SpeedGrade but the little things need to be addressed before I would use it in battle. -
Would love to know the same – Find it super annoying as well and stuck using it or purchasing $$$ more software to go another route. I feel like I am doing something wrong and have not been able to find a definitive guide to the workflow. Any help would be appreciated, though seeing this has not gotten any attention in months (year + since SG’s release) it doesn’t seem promising.
