Workflow Question…
I have a very big workflow that I’m trying to figure out, and need any guidance possible.
Background:
-We have been shooting a cooking show for the past two seasons in DVCPRO 50 Anamorphic 16×9 at 23.98 we have cut the show for HD feeds and it looks great, then we letterbox it for SD feeds.
– We were shooting using the Panasonic SDX 900. And obviously editing in Final Cut Pro
Current Issue:
– Now we are entering the world of true HD, we are getting the AJ-HPX2000 with the P2 cards, as well we will be shooting handheld with the Panasonic HVX200A. Now I believe we will be shooting the HPX2000 at 1080i 23.98P or PA? And we will be shooting the HVX200A with the 720P 23.98.
– Here comes, the area where I am trying to do the math and don’t know what we would do? We are going to be using our older footage from the DVCPRO 50 footage as flashback material to preview what the show will be about. So we will be cutting three different formats, now if we want the best quality, we would want to stay with 1080p resolution, right? But once we finish, we will possibly mastering also into 3 formats: HD through a Panasonic HD Deck, going to DigiBeta and then to Beta.
If we go go to the HD Deck, no big deal, we would stay at the 1080i format and uprez the DVCPRO50 footage to work with the HD footage, right?
If we go to the DigiBeta, this is where I would get a bit confused, we would need to down-convert this footage to work on the DigiBeta, how would we go about doing this and handling all of this? As well as the Beta formats?
