    Hello,

This is my first post here, so here ‘goes.

I’m setting up a project and I’d like ideas on optimal workflow, settings for ingesting, converting etc. The director’s notes say that the project was shot at 24p, 1080i with one of the interviews shot at 720pa. I also have flip fone footage, archival footage from television that’s in 4:3, Canon 5D, video phone footage and 16mm. I was thinking of converting all the archival stuff to prores 422 hq at 24p. It will be layed back to HD cam at 23.98fps.

    Thank you!

I would say put everything into prores including the flip and 5d.

[Jean Walker] “The director’s notes say that the project was shot at 24p, 1080i…”

Well it cannot be both p and i.

Its ether progressive or interlaced. NOT both.

    **Hindsight is always 1080p**

Could that mean that there was an advanced pulldown in the camera to record the 24p footage with a 1080i signal? If so, is the process to remove the pulldown in fcp different from just checking the ‘remove advanced pulldown’ box in log and transfer?
