    Hi Guys

Got the Kona2 and IO on the same system. Need to cut 30 min shows for a broadcast. Just trying to figure out (without starting flames again regarding the issue 😉 ) the best option to capture ‘highest’ quality of video.
Most of the content is BetaSP (Component). After reading the posts, most agree that working in SDI or HD-SDI is the best way no matter what the source for a ‘cleaner’ output at the end.

How would I use my setup to get the best possible I/O workflow.

    INPUT:
Component INTO IO – SDI OUT FROM IO – INTO HD-SDI IN KONA2
If so, which codec should I use for the highest quality.

    OUTPUT:
KONA2 HD-SDI OUT -> Deck or SDI IN IO for DownConvert and Monitoring on SD Display?

I am assuming that IO Control Panel will setup the Inputs/Outputs as a stand alone convertor which then goes into Kona2? I guess when using the HD-SDI INPUT on the Kona2 with the Setup, it will automatically Upconvert to HD as well?
If I use the regular SDI as Input then I correct in saying that Kona2 would not be required, I could use the SDI from the IO to capture direct OR
is there any difference in quality when using Kona2 even for the regular SDI inputs.

OR if you can suggest a better workflow to attain the highest quality for this, please share your thoughts.
Storage is not an issue since it will be running off the Huge or Medea backbones.
    Thanks for the help
    Sam
