I have footage shot on my Sony ax-100 in ‘High Speed Record’ mode, which is 120fps.

Unfortunately, the resolution for that mode is only 1280 X 720.

I’d like to incorporate that footage into an ultra HD (3820 x 2160) project so I’ll be needing to upscale using ‘Detail Preserving Upscale’ in AE CC-2014.

But I also am needing to have the exported footage slowed to 23.976.

So, my question is about workflow.

    Just wondering if…

the best way of doing this to interpret the footage at 24fps, create new composition w/ 3820 x 2160 resolution, add the ‘Detail Preserving Upscale’ effect to that, then export (using Media Encoder) to high bitrate Ultra HD (3820 x 2160) settings?

    Or…

is there a better way that can yield better looking results?

    Thanks much!
