    Hi all,

    Just canvassing opinion really…

Currently working on a 30″ second title sequence; using 3d assets from c4d, composite & FX in AE then I usually always work by putting my final final piece together in FCP – occasionally reimporting this edit back into AE to tighten up timing etc…

Just quick question – do any of you work this way or do you consider this a bit clumsy?

I started as an graphic designer then worked as an editor and I just enjoy the immediacy of being able to play back quickly and move sequences around to put the shape/structure of a piece together rather than getting bogged down in moving keyframes re-rendering, RAM previews, AUDIO previews…

…but am happy to wean myself of this (bad?) habit?

    Ta

    Elin

It’s all the those pesky details :p

I pretty much do the same thing.
Cinema 4D – Shake- FCP – Soundtrack Pro – FCP
Sometimes I go back and forth between software for adjustments… but this is pretty much the way i go too.

I generally stop at AE, but most of my projects have run times of a minute or less. If it gets much longer I go from AE to Premier Pro.

My guess is we all select the right ‘horse for the course’ and swop out between multiple apps (and multiple operating systems?) constantly

I’m still occasionally using shake, commotion and combustion despite not upgrading for years.
