I have also an old mac so please consider… i need proxy? i have time to make any possible conversion and need procedure that help me to work with my low performance old mac.
Than i need to pass some footage to after effect, and last i will make color correction with davinci.

Cut in a 1080 project. Bring the footage in as DNxHR HQ at 4K. OR…if you need to work Proxy, there’s a codec for that, AMA link the footage and then transcode to DNxHR LB….and then relink to the masters and transcode to HQ when done. This way you keep the 4K size but work in 1080, so can use Frame Flex to reframe shots as needed.
If you need to pass footage to AE, then working HQ would be an option…but this all depends on if your machine can handle it. If not, then you’ll have to send the camera master to AE…matching the timecode to find the right spot.

And if it’s real 4K, not UHD you will need the Studio version of Resolve. The standard free version of Resolve only works up to UHD.
