Workflow
I’m hoping this is the right forum…so here goes.
I’m editing a trailer and the footage is 4K. However, this is going on Indiegogo, which uploads from Vimeo. Vimeo, of course, is 1920×1080.
I have a good system but even with that the 4K chokes it.
What is the best workflow for this, knowing the end result is Vimeo?

I’d get FCPX to generate proxies, do the edit, then switch back to original media for export at 1080p and/or use FCPX’s built in Vimeo uploader.

Edit in a 1080 timeline. What system do you have and what format is the 4k?
