  • Worker says: the Clip with Windows-Path is offline

    Hi everyone,

I have a problem with the Worker.

    PROBLEM
I am trying to setup s Server Queried job in Worker. If the Worker finds a clip on server, that has Windows-Path, it says the Clip is offline.

    SET-UP

CatDV Enterprise Server on a Mac OS Server SL
CatDV PRO on Windows XP and Mac OS SL

We work with Windows and Mac Clients. When I import a clip on a Windows Client, it becomes a Windows-Path such like: \\brl-video\group\MuFu.R\clip.mov. I edited the Media Search Paths in Preferences, so that Windows and Mac clients of the CatDV Pro can see the files.
But the Worker, that runs on Mac Server, can’t resolve this paths.
    The Disk is mounted.

Did anybody have the same Problem? How did you solve it?

    Thanks and regards
    Leonid

I’ve not seen it, but it’s an interesting case. Windows importing files so the paths come from that side. My Win shops are mostly either browse only or all windows.
Rolf, can you speak to this one?

The worker doesn’t currrently support media search paths in the same way that the CatDV client does, I’m afraid, so this may be a change request we have to look at for a future update.

Thanks for your replies. I will work out a solution. But It would be a nice and useful feature of the worker, if it could load the preferences from the server. It interacts with the server anyway.

    Regards

    Leo
