I thought I’d post our workarounds for mixing DV and uncompressed on the same timeline….

There can be a problem mixing uncompressed and DV sources within the same job in Premiere with the current Black magic drivers.

For DV sources on a DV timeline (720×480) all is well.

For DV sources on an 8bit 4×3 (720×486) timeline all is well realtime…unless you do an effect to a DV source. The render engine is set to 486 so the 480 line DV material shifts up and the fields become reversed.

    Workarounds….

    1) Work in an 8bit timeline. If there are just a few fx, split the clips and reverse the fields for the duration of the FX.

    2) Work in an 8bit timeline. If there are a lot of FX export the whole sequence as an 8 bit 720×480 avi to go out to tape.

    FYI
