work flow question
Hi All:
I am looking for some advice on Final Cut work process. I am working on a commercial that is shooting in mini – DV 24P, but will have to be delivered on beta sp. My thoughts are to build it on a NTSC timeline save it as a finished quicktime movie to a fire wire drive and take that to a post house for output. Will this work? Do you have any other ideas for a better work flow?As always thank you for your thoughts, and long live the cow!!!

You can bring it in, edit it in 24p and output it on BetaSP without any changes to the piece. You won’t see any degradation in the look. You might need to Print to tape instead of edit to tape but that’s not a big deal. The only time you would have trouble transfering from digital to analog is if you were using HDV. I think you would still be ok if you were using HD. The forum will correct me if I’m wrong.
